American singer Toni Childs had been living at "The Musicworks" studio which belonged to Joe Julian of "Berlin" during the time we had been recording the "Random Hold" "Burn the Buildings" album there. She Martyn and myself hit it off and decided to put a band together so with the addition of drummer Steve Crease and Duncan Kilburn from "The Psychedelic Furs" on sax and keyboards we began rehearsing under the name"Nadia Kapiche".

We performed around town supporting "The Europeans" and "U2" in various clubs and Toni having such an excellent voice went down a storm.(in London audience terms that means no one walking out ). I was eventually replaced with David Rhodes when Toni mistakenly thought I had quit the band, after declining to do a suburban gig due to recording commitments with "Soundtrack".

Toni finally returned to LA where she signed to A&M and later Geffen producing several albums before moving to Hawaii where she now resides.
