Jimmy Edwards & The Profile
Andy Prince and I relaxing at Farmyard studios
While I had been busy in Neo jimmy Edwards had not been idle. After Masterswitch he had joined the teen band Flintlock mainly out of financial considerations and subsequently put out a couple of solo singles on Warner Brothers backed up by The Pretenders.
By the time Neo was on the rocks Jimmy had been introduced by Jimmy Pursey from "Sham 69" to manager Tony Gordon and was seeking a new record deal. We put together "The Profile" from myself, Derek Quinton from "Neo" and bass player Andy Prince from "Rikki and the Last Days of Earth" and "Toyah".
A deal with Polydor was secured after some demo recordings and a couple of showcase gigs in London clubs but Derek left to join Tom Robinson's new band"Sector 27" and was replaced by Charlie Morgan ( now drumming for Elton John ).
The completed album remained unreleased due to a prolonged bout of illness on Jims part. However a pair of singles 'Toys' and 'Cabaret' came out, perfectly timed to coincide with a Musicians Union strike during which no new releases received any airplay.
All set up and ready to rock.
